Subhi is a Hindi Pop Jazz Singer, Songwriter, Musician and Speaker. 

Her debut Hindi Pop Jazz album titled "Shaitaan Dil" (Naughty Heart) chronicles her journey as an artist between two countries & cultures. With lyrics in Hindi & Urdu, the album showcases a blend of her Indian roots and the prominent Jazz culture of Chicago.

Subhi was a speaker at the TEDx Naperville 2017 conference and has performed at several venues including Old Town School of Folk Music & Jazz Institute (Chicago), Lotus World Music & Arts Festival (Indiana), Red Poppy Art House (San Francisco), Brooklyn RagaMassive (New York City), Navy Pier Miller Lite Beer Garden Stage (Chicago).

She has also worked with leading Indian Digital platforms: Y-Films (YRF) & The Viral Fever (TVF) and composed for a National Award winning film director

Subhi is a singer/songwriter based in Chicago. 
 
She released her debut Hindi Pop Jazz album titled "Shaitaan Dil" (Naughty Heart) in September 2017. The album release show was hosted by the popular Old Town School of Folk Music and co-presented by The Jazz Institute of Chicago. Her show was part of the Official Jazz Club Tour 2017 as well as the celebrated World Music Wednesdays series.

Subhi began her career working as a music assistant to Oscar winning Director Mira Nair. She worked on Monsoon Wedding: Musical, a Broadway show in New York. Subhi worked with the National Award winning director Nila Madhab Panda on his feature film. She has also worked on projects with leading Indian digital platforms, including The Viral Fever (TVF) and Y-Films (YRF). 

In November 2017, Subhi was a speaker & performer at TED Talks (TEDx) in Chicago.

In September 2018, Subhi spoke about her journey and performed at Google Headquarters (Mountain View, California) as part of Google’s ‘Talks At Google’ Series. Earlier this year, Subhi performed at the prestigious Kennedy Center: Millennium Stage (Washington D.C.). She performed at the SXSW Music Festival in March 2018 at the legendary Jazz Venue Elephant Room.

In May 2018, Subhi was selected as one of the five artists to be featured on the Emmy Award winning annual show 'Asian Influences' on ABC7 Chicago. She was the only artist invited to perform at ABC7 studio in Chicago.

In March 2018, Subhi toured with Red Baraat as part of their Festival of Colors Mid-West tour and opened for the band at Dakota Jazz Club (Minneapolis), CSPS Hall (Cedar Rapids) & Martyrs (Chicago). 

She has also performed at several venues including Lotus World Music & Arts Festival (Indiana), Red Poppy Art House (San Francisco), Brooklyn Raga Massive (New York City),  Navy Pier Miller Lite Beer Garden Stage (Chicago).

Earlier in 2017, Subhi performed at various venues in Chicago including Martyr's, Sabor A Cafe, The Whistler (Star Align Series), Elastic Arts (Anagram Series)  & SoFar Sounds Chicago to name a few. 

In 2016, she performed at the 'Eye On India' festival in Chicago and her songs have been featured on NPR (WBEZ), WLUW 88.7 FM (Radio One Chicago), WGN TV & International show 'Music from around the World' on WHPK 88.5 FM.  

Her music promotes cross-cultural exchange of creative dialogues. Subhi's songs showcase a blend of her Indian roots and the prominent Jazz culture of Chicago. It was during her travels back and forth between Mumbai and Chicago that she composed the songs which eventually became a part of her debut album.

Anchoring it all together is Subhi’s earthy and organic voice. Her musical exuberance is matched only by her vivacious personality.  

Subhi’s next project is an easy listening acoustic album with focus on her vocals accompanied by guitar & drums. The vibe will be a mix of Indian Pop, Folk & Bossa Nova with lyrics in Hindi & Punjabi.
